WSJ.Chicago  ·  For Buyers

Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make.

I’ve guided buyers through this market for 11 years — from first-time purchases to complex investment acquisitions. Here’s what you need to know before you start.

Step One

Choosing the right agent

Your agent is your advocate, your negotiator, and your guide. Don’t settle. Here’s what to look for — and what I bring to every buyer relationship.

Do they know the market?

Experience & Track Record

11 years working exclusively in the Chicago metro area. Over $15 million in transactions doesn’t happen without knowing this market deeply.

Can they negotiate for you?

Negotiation & Strategy

A strong offer isn’t just about price — it’s about terms, timing, and knowing what the seller actually needs.

Will they guide you every step?

Communication & Guidance

I walk you through every single step. Plain language, constant contact, confidence at every stage.

Will they be honest with you?

Honesty & Transparency

If a property is overpriced, I’ll tell you. My goal is a decision you feel great about — not just a closed transaction.

Step Two

The buying process

Every transaction is different, but the steps are consistent. Hover each step to learn more.

02
Set your timelineMilestones from start to closeWe map your ideal move-in date and work backward. Illinois closings typically take 30–60 days post-contract, so planning early matters.
03

04
Define your wish listMust-haves vs nice-to-havesWe separate priorities from preferences. Knowing your non-negotiables keeps the search focused across all 8 counties and saves valuable time.
05

06

07
